You generally have less than one (1) business day to cancel your transfer request from the time you submit the transfer to Wealthfront.
To cancel your account transfer:
- Log in to the Wealthfront website
- At the top of the screen, click “Accounts” and select “Transactions” in the dropdown menu
- Select the account transfer you would like to cancel
- Click “Cancel” on the right side of the screen.
If the cancel button does not appear on your Transactions page, the transfer is already in progress and cannot be cancelled. If you don’t want the funds transferred to your Wealthfront account, contact your current firm as soon as possible and ask them to reject the transfer request. Depending on the timing they may be able to assist in cancelling the request.
If your assets do arrive at Wealthfront, you can transfer them back to your previous firm by initiating a new transfer through that firm. Please follow the instructions in this FAQ.
