How can I transfer part of my brokerage account at another institution?

You can transfer selected securities from your account at another institution to Wealthfront through the industry-standard ACATS process. This allows us to request your funds electronically.

  1. Log in to your Wealthfront account and click Transfer money > Bring over investments.
  2. Select the linked account from which you’d like to transfer investments, or follow the prompts to link a new account.
  3. Review the current positions in your external account and select the securities you want to transfer.  Everything else will be left in your account at the other firm (you can always transfer the rest later). Please make sure that the funds left with your current firm meet any required account minimums.
