How do I close my Automated Investing Account?
There are two ways to withdraw funds and close your Automated Investing Account: you can liquidate the account and transfer the cash to your linked external bank account or to a Cash Account, or you can transfer out to another institution.
- To liquidate your account, log in and click the “Transfer money” button at the top of the dashboard, select to “Withdraw” or “Transfer”, then select to “Withdraw the entire account balance”. Please note that liquidating your account may incur taxes.
Once you request a full withdrawal we'll automatically close your account. You'll still be able to log in after your account is closed to access your tax documents and statements.
If it's an IRA account, 529 Account, or a Stock Investing Account please contact us after your withdrawal has been completed and your account balance is $0.
- To transfer your entire account to another brokerage firm, you'll need to initiate the transfer with the firm you’re transferring to. You can provide them with the following information:
- Your account is held by: RBC Clearing & Custody - DTC# 0235
- Your account number: You can view your account number by logging into our website > clicking your name in the upper right corner > Settings > and the title of your account on the menu to the left
Your account will automatically close upon the transfer request. Please see this support article for more information.
