How do I change my name on my Wealthfront account?

How to request my name change

You can request a name change for your Wealthfront account on our full website by clicking your current name in the top right corner of your dashboard and selecting “Settings.” Then click on “Profile” from the menu on the left and you can request the change under “Personal Information.”

 

What supporting documents do we accept to complete the request?

To validate your new name, accepted supporting documents include:

  • Non-expired U.S. government issued ID, such as a U.S. passport or driver’s license (not including temporary IDs)
  • If issued in the past 6 months or less:
    • Marriage certificate
    • Court order (Ex: divorce decree, petition for name change through naturalization, etc.)

 

How long will it take for my name change request to be processed?

Once submitted, your request will be completed within 2 weeks. We’ll send you an email to confirm when the name on your account has been updated.

 

When will the change be reflected on my profile and statements/tax documents?

Once the name change has been completed, your new name will be reflected on your profile instantly. For statements, you will see the change shown on the following month’s document, and for tax documents, it will appear on the next year’s documents. Tax documents that have already been issued will not be re-issued following a name change.
