How can my partner and I see a household view of our accounts?

If you have a Joint Account at Wealthfront, you and your co-owner can add your respective Wealthfront and linked accounts to a shared view for visibility into your combined financial picture.

How do I create and edit a shared view?

Shared views are created automatically when you open a Joint Account with someone. To get started, select the tab with both of your names at the top of your dashboard. From there, add any linked accounts that you'd like both people to be able to see.

To edit a shared view, click into your shared view and you’ll see a prompt to edit the shared accounts at the bottom of the page.

Keep in mind that your co-owner can’t view or edit your shared view until they’ve accepted the invite to your Joint Account. To manage your co-owner’s invite, go to the Manage screen of your Joint Account.

What shows up in my shared view?

You can choose which accounts show up in your shared view. Any Wealthfront Joint Accounts that you own together are automatically added and can't be removed.

Once you add an account, you can both see the account name and current balance. You're not able to see the balance or transaction history. Keep in mind that account names may include the name of the institution and the last 4 digits of your account number.

What actions are you able to take from a shared view?

A shared view is view only, and doesn't allow you or your co-owner to take any actions on the account, like making transfers or changing settings.

Can I add a Wealthfront Trust account to my shared view?

Wealthfront Trust accounts are currently not supported in shared views.

Can I create a shared view if I don't have a Wealthfront Joint Account?

Currently, shared views are only available for clients who have at least one Wealthfront Joint Account (e.g. Cash, Automated Investing, Automated Bond Ladder).

If I close my Joint Account, can I keep my shared view?

Unfortunately not—your shared view will be removed when you no longer have any Wealthfront Joint Accounts with someone.

Is it possible to link accounts together for the purpose of coordinating trading between Wealthfront accounts?

Yes, if both you and your spouse have Wealthfront investment accounts under your own separate logins, you can follow the steps in this FAQ to link them together for the purpose of coordinating trades so as to try and avoid wash sales.

How do I delete a shared view?

To permanently delete your shared view for both you and your co-owner, please contact us at support@wealthfront.com.
