Can Wealthfront deny my account application or close my account?
Yes. We have the option to deny an account application or close an account after it has been funded. We may elect to deny an account application when we feel our service might not be appropriate for a client’s needs. The most common reason is if we believe a client will require a lot of handholding from our client service team. Our service and associated fee have not been designed for a client who requires high touch.
We may terminate a client agreement and request that the client transfer their account to another brokerage firm if the client exhibits unreasonable or abusive behavior directed toward any Wealthfront employee. We may also terminate a client agreement when our service is not used as intended, such as attempting to time markets, or for competitive evaluation purposes (which is specifically prohibited by our client agreement).
