What is a trusted contact?
To help secure your account, we encourage all account holders to nominate a person who is 18 years of age or older to be a Trusted Contact. By naming a Trusted Contact, you authorize that person to be contacted when certain information is needed to secure your Wealthfront account. For example, if Wealthfront is unable to reach you, we may contact your Trusted Contact regarding suspicious activity or transactions; to confirm information necessary for the administration of your account, such as your current contact information, health status, or the identity of any legal guardian, executor, trustee or holder of a power of attorney; or as otherwise permitted by FINRA Rule 2165. A Trusted Contact is not the same thing as Power of Attorney and does not have the ability to transact or make changes in your account. You can add or change your Trusted Contact at any time in Settings.
