What does it mean when an institution is down?

Our connection to a linked institution can experience difficulties for a variety of reasons, which means we may not be able to communicate with the institution right away.

When a link goes down, we request information again automatically without any action on your part. If a link fails due to a change in the institution’s website, we work to restore the link automatically as soon as possible.
