How do I make sure my 529 funds aren't used for retirement? I want these assets to be separate and just used for my college goal in my plan.

Our advice engine, Path, does that automatically. That is, Path automatically allocates the funds in your 529 account towards college goals (and the funds are not included in the projections for retirement). To see the full list of accounts we assume you can use for retirement, see this section of our methodology. To see the logic we use for college savings specifically, see this section of our methodology.
