How do you determine where I should save for my travel costs?

We prioritize accounts for additional savings according to their tax efficiency and fees. For travel within the next five years, we assume you’ll save in cash accounts (e.g., savings or checking). For travel more than five years from now, we assume you’ll save in taxable investment accounts using the same logic as saving for a down payment for a home.
