How long does it take to transfer between Wealthfront accounts?

How long it takes to transfer depends on the accounts you are transferring between, and the time of day you request the transfer. We'll provide an estimated completion time before you schedule the transfer.

Cash to Cash 

Transfers between cash accounts typically complete within 1 business day.

Cash to Investing (within 1 business day)

Investing to Cash (2-3 business days)

We expect to sell your investments within 1-2 business days, after which you will no longer be subject to market movement. It takes 1 business day for trades to settle after your investments are sold, then the funds will typically arrive in your cash account 1-2 business days after that.

Please note, to satisfy your transfer request we will have to sell some of your securities, which may result in a tax liability.
