Will Wealthfront always invest all transfers from a cash account to an investment account within minutes?
No. While the vast majority of transfers will invest within a few minutes, we do not guarantee investment timing. This means it’s possible that a transfer from your cash account to your investment account may not be invested the same day, or even in some rare instances, for more than a business day. Transfers from your Wealthfront Cash Account to your Wealthfront Investment Account may be delayed for an extended period of time due to issues caused by software failure, system disruption, market volatility, a lack of liquidity, or other factors.
The Cash Account is offered by Wealthfront Brokerage LLC (“Wealthfront Brokerage”), a Member of FINRA/SIPC. Neither Wealthfront Brokerage nor any Wealthfront entity is a bank and the Cash Account itself is not a deposit account. Cash balances in the Cash Account are swept to Program Banks where they earn a variable annual percentage yield (“APY”). Investment management and advisory services are provided by Wealthfront Advisers LLC (“Wealthfront Advisers”), an SEC registered investment adviser, and financial planning tools are provided by Wealthfront Software LLC (“Wealthfront Software”).
