How do you transition my account to Smart Beta as my account balance approaches the $500,000 minimum?
To ensure market movement does not unfairly or inappropriately block clients from our Smart Beta service, we have designed some flexibility into our $500,000 balance requirement. This means that in some circumstances our software may begin to initiate Smart Beta transactions in your account when your account balance reaches $475,000. We start the transition in advance of our $500,000 threshold to account for potential market movements between the time you make a deposit and the time we receive it. This makes it possible for clients who deposit funds in order to meet the threshold to still qualify for Smart Beta even if markets trade down during that time. In most cases, the transition to Smart Beta index weightings is gradual but speeds up when you make deposits to your account.
